In the Flatbush Brooklyn area where a Jewish man was savagely beaten, Curtis announced that the Guardian Angels offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

"This is the victim Levi, who was viciously attacked on his way to the synagogue Friday morning. He saw me patrolling the streets and came running out to see me because he was so excited because he had grown up listening to me on 77 WABC. He then relayed the story for the first time of how he was viscously attacked & thanked the Guardian Angels for being there."

Guardian Angels Patrol Brooklyn Jewish Neighborhoods to Protect Jews, Provide ‘Visual Deterrence’

The Guardian Angels private crime prevention group have begun patrolling Brooklyn’s Jewish neighborhoods to provide “visual deterrence” following an ongoing rise in the number of anti-Semitic attacks against the city’s Jews.

Curtis Sliwa, who founded the unarmed group in 1979 promised in an interview with NBC News on Saturday evening their patrols would begin in the Crown Heights neighborhood. As promised, the patrols did indeed begin right on schedule. Sliwa said the patrols would expand to the Williamsburg and Borough Park sections later in the day. [Continue reading here]

Guardian Angels help patrol city's Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods

A local group is helping keep Orthodox Jewish communities safe in the aftermath of anti-Semitic attacks throughout the tri-state area.

The Guardian Angels say they are on patrol and are ready to protect victims of hate crimes.

"Jew or gentile--we're all in this together," says Curtis Sliwa, founder and CEO of Guardian Angels. "An attack on a Jew is an attack on everyone in the city."

Guardian Angels Arrive To Protect Jewish Neighborhoods

The Guardian Angels are back.

Curtis Sliwa – CEO of the anti-crime organization which he founded in 1979 – said the Guardian Angels haven’t patrolled Crown Heights since 1991, when a full-on riot rocked the neighborhood. But in the wake of ongoing assaults against Jews, the Guardian Angels have returned to the area and Sliwa said they will stay for at least three months with round-the-clock patrols.
